Chintatown-Chicago Photowalk

I invited a few photog friends of mine to go for a photowalk and we chose Chinatown-Chicago.  I wanted to try my hand at street photography and this is what I came up with.  Actually a pretty good day!

Shintos Naperville Fast and Furious Photo Shoot

So I have always been and fan of nicely customized automobiles and a lover of bikes….I still cannot get over my parents selling my ’65 Nova while I was in college! Scarred for life!  Anyway, I was called out to do a photo shoot for a local restaurant and was able to capture some nice photos of all of the rides there.  It was nice to see each person’s different taste in customization.  It was also cool to see a couple of young ladies on their c-rockets who were nice enough to pose for the camera!  Enjoy!

BH Martial Arts Demonstration Team

My son is a part of the BH Martial Arts Demonstration team, which recently performed at the Kendall County Special Olympics.  Needless to say, what a talented group of Martial Artists!  Is that what they called?

Automobiles

I had the opportunity to photograph some beautiful antique automobiles at my church’s, Calvary Naperville,  festival this summer.  I do have to admit though, my son Noel took the amazing shot of the orange Chevy Nova reflecting off of the Pontiac GTO!

Gustavo & Jessica Wedding

So I had an awesome opportunity to shoot a wedding for an awesome couple, Gustavo and Jessica.  Shinto’s Restaurant of Naperville (which I highly recommend) was holding their first wedding and wedding reception.  It was beautifully set up and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely.  So I decided to post a few of the pictures that I took.  I believe I was able to capture the true feeling of love between these two. Simply amazing!

Shinto Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar

Ok, like I met this great person who invited my wife and I to a Black and White Party at Shinto’s in Naperville.  I am shooting a wedding here in a couple of weeks, so I decided to bring my camera along to see what photos I could get from the festivities.  Lots of great food, great fun and great people! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Calvary Naperville

A shoot I did for my church.  The singing over a slideshow was so powerful.  I tried to capture that in these pictures.

5 People, 5 Reasons and 5 Clues to Stepping Out on Your Own

Photo from Starpulse.com

Have you ever had that nagging feeling to do something?  I mean, that feeling that just does not go away?  It sticks in your head day and night, and often reminds you of why  you hate your job.  While at company meetings you are busy drawing up plans and scheming of how you are going to break away from your mundane job one day.  So what is holding you back?

I personally admire those people that have had visions and struck out to make them a reality.  Those people teach me that anything is possible.  And the funny  thing is, they are no more special than you or I.  The only difference is that they realized they had to step out of the boat in order to walk on water.  Believe me, it is much better to step out of the boat than to be kicked out of it!  Well, I put together a list that I hope will motivate you to step out of the boat and follow your dreams.

5 People Who Stepped Out, Got Rich

  1. Mary Kay Ash-You know, Mary Kay Cosmetics.  She originally lost a promotion to someone whom she had trained!
  2. Henry Ford-No explanation needed.
  3. Bill Gates-Did not finish college-uh, net worth 40 billion?  And now everyone has a computer.
  4. Rachel Ray-Does not even have formal culinary training! Makes a cool 18 mil a year.
  5. Mark Zuckerberg-Can everyone say FACEBOOK?

5 Reasons to Do Your Own Thing

  1. If not, you will always be helping to make someone else rich.
  2. You will eventually succeed in doing your own thing, because it is YOUR OWN THING!
  3. You do not want to wake up one day and say “Only if”, or “What If”.  Only now, it’s too late.
  4. You were given those talents and passion for a reason…it is what you were put on this earth to DO!
  5. You will never be truly content unless you at least try.

5 Clues that It is About Time

  1. You still have that nagging passion to do something you love to do.
  2. The chips just never seem to fall in the right place in your current profession.
  3. People (honest people) are always saying you are good at what you do (your passion that is!)
  4. You know that what people are telling you above is true!
  5. There is no feeling of completeness or satisfaction in your current profession (the money is no longer worth the discontentment)

Well,  I hope that you enjoyed the lists and that it sparked some interest in following your passion.  If there was one last thing I could leave you with, it would be this.  Be careful of who you share your dream with, because there will always be those who will doubt and try to curb your enthusiasm.  Share it with believers in your dream and with those who have been successful in following their dreams.  Remember, a person never asks a poor man how to be rich.  Now let me hear your thoughts?  Peace and God Bless!
